HANCOCK — On Friday, there was a steady rain over McAfee Field, but that did not stop the Hancock Bulldogs from playing with a fierce attitude.
The Gwinn Modeltowners were defeated by Hancock by a score of 33-18 to give Hancock its first victory of the 2022 campaign.
It was by far the strongest performance of the year for the Hancock Bulldogs (1-3), according to Hancock head coach Ramon Sague and his coaching staff.

LL-H 44, Stephenson 14
On Friday, Lake Linden-Hubbell dominated Stephenson by a score of 44-14.
Sam Roberts of LL-H gained 230 yards on the ground by carrying the ball 11 times and scoring two touchdowns. On 20 carries, James Milkey gained 89 yards and scored three touchdowns with his running ability.
Lakes quarterback Danny Marcotte completed two of his four pass attempts for a total of 51 yards. One of those completions was a touchdown throw to Mason Holzberger for 28 yards that came in the second quarter.
The Lakes’ defence held the Eagles to just 218 yards of total offence while the Lakes’ offence racked up 410 yards. LL-H concluded the day with 359 running yards, an 8.2 yard average per carry, and a total of 8.2 yards.
Stephenson had 104 yards on the ground, good for an average of 4 yards per carry.
