According to Variety, Tig Notaro will have a recurring role on “The Morning Show” in Season 3.
The executive assistant to Paul Marks will be played by Amanda Robinson, creator and star of “One Mississippi” (played by Jon Hamm). Nicole Beharie and Hamm are additional previously announced cast members, in addition to Julianna Margulies.
A third season is now under production.
In Season 2, audiences witnessed “The Morning Show” staff bounce back after being destroyed by Alex (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley (Reese Witherspoon). They then stepped into a brand-new UBA and a rapidly changing world where maintaining one’s identity was vital and the discrepancy between one’s public persona and one’s true personality was put to the test.
The cast also included Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Janina Gavankar, Tom Irwin, and Marcia Gay Harden in addition to Aniston and Witherspoon. For Season 2, newcomers included Greta Lee, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Holland Taylor, Tara Karsian, Valeria Golino, and Margulies.
Witherspoon for best lead actress in a drama series, Crudup for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series, and Marcia Gay Harden for outstanding guest actress in a drama series are the three Emmy nominations for the drama’s second season this year. For “The Morning Show,” Crudup already received an Emmy.
Notaro is represented by Ziffren and CAA.
Deadline was the first to make public Notaro’s casting.
