Season 2 of Violet Evergarden: Release Date, Plot Summary, and Important Information
Although the series has been a huge success and is one of the few anime that helped define the slice-of-life subgenre, there has been no word of a continuation up until this point. In addition to the single season, the franchise contains a number of feature films that explore various side stories and what happens after Season 1. Thus, even though most of Violet’s journey has already been depicted, viewers wouldn’t mind Violet Evergarden: Season 2 returning to the show.
While the recent increase in popularity of action and adventure anime may be good news for some, those who like the more laid-back story-driven genre have been let down. Because of this, Violet Evergarden: Season 2 appears more urgently needed right now than it does just a passing need. Despite the lack of knowledge on the second season, here is what we do know.
When will the second season of Violet Evergarden premiere?
There is currently no release date for Violet Evergarden: Season 2 because Kyoto Animation has sadly not verified that it is in production. Even if it may be a reach to predict a second season, it could finally air at the earliest in 2024. The anime is still one of the best steampunks available.
In terms of the plot, Violet Evergarden: The Movie pretty well closed it up, so it would be tough to envisage a sequel. However, the anime has a sizable fan base, so perhaps Kyoto Animation will truly give the people what they want.
What’s the Story of Violet Evergarden Season 2? (Warning: Spoiler)
As the first season of the anime came to a close, Violet was finally able to accept Gilbert’s passing. Gilbert survived the war and was still alive all this time, as was later revealed in the second film, which continued the plot. When they eventually got back together, Violet quit her job at the CH Postal Company and moved in with Gilbert.
The movie’s plot was entirely unique and had nothing to do with any of the Light Novel volumes. Considering this, we can’t speculate on what Violet Evergarden: Season 2 would be about because it will be a wholly original plot if it happens. It will probably focus on how Violet and Gilbert’s lives develops in the future, though, since that they are officially together.
Which studio is putting Season 2 of Violet Evergarden together?
The first season and the two films were animated by Kyoto Animation. If the anime isn’t relaunched, which is quite improbable, Kyoto should also likely get the second season.
As seen by how superbly they portrayed Hyouka, Kyoto Animation is a master at bringing out the finest in animation that is more emotionally oriented. So we doubt anyone would object if Violet Evergarden: Season 2 falls into their lap once more.
